I'll get straight to the point here.

My girlfriend and I have been dating for two years. She is very supportive and has been my rock throughout my college years thus far. My dream is to be a professional writer for the video game industry, and she has helped me through the struggle of getting my foot in the door. I am currently taking a video game development course outside of college, and she has been my biggest supporter in my endeavors.

As well as video game writing, I also write novels. I have been writing a fantasy novel for three years now, and plan on self-publishing it in the next two years. My girlfriend has been with me through this entire process, and often encourages me and brags about me to her friends and family.

Now that that's out of the way, let's move on to the issue at hand.

About four months ago, I got a bad cold. While I was sick, my girlfriend stayed with me and helped me feel better. She did all of the chores, made me food, and often even helped me with my schoolwork. As a small gesture of gratitude, I wrote her a short story. It was a fantasy love story based on a video game that me and her played together, and it featured both her and myself as the main characters. In the end, the two main characters got together and had their happily ever after. She read it, loved it, and was very happy that I wrote her a story.

This is where things get sensitive. I do have a bit of a jerkish tendency, and that's something that I'm trying very hard to work on. One night after we had gotten drunk together, I wrote her another story. This one was a bit different, however. It was an "erotica" with us as the main characters. I am not stupid, however, and I wrote it in a very vanilla way. In other words, it was more romantic than it was sexual. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable in any way, and I had no expectation that she would even read it. It was more or less a funny thing that I did after I had a few drinks. I wrote it in a Google docs file, and I saved it as "Erotica (for Carrie's eyes only)". I thought that was all she saw of it.

That is until three nights ago. I came home from class and found all of my (written) novel notes torn to shreds. My girlfriend had left a note on my desk that read something like this: "You housed your disgusting, perverted work in the same place as your novel? How could you? I am not happy with you right now, and you will be groveling for a long time to get me back."

I was absolutely dumbfounded by this. I had no clue as to what she was talking about. I pressed her on it, and she told me that she was talking about the "erotica" that I wrote her. I was absolutely floored by this. I told her that I didn't want her to see it, I didn't even want to show her. It was just something stupid that I did after I got drunk. She got very quiet after that, picked up the scraps of my notes, and left the room.

We haven't spoken in three days. She won't even acknowledge my presence. I am tore up inside over this, folks. I don't even know how to approach her. I've never ruined a relationship this badly. How can I fix this? I haven't slept in three days and I am desperate. I don't want to lose her.

EDIT: Holy shit, this blew up. Carrie just got out of class. I'll be talking to her soon. For those of you saying that I should dump her, I'm not going to immediately jump to that. She has been nothing but wonderful to me, and I'm going to try to work this out with her. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the feedback thus far.

EDIT 2: Well, it's 2:13AM and Carrie just fell asleep. We had a long talk tonight. I told her that I didn't expect her to see the story, and that I didn't want her to see it. I had no expectations that she would even read it. She thought that I wrote it for her as a gift, something like our love story from four months ago. I told her that I didn't want her to see that, and I didn't want to make her uncomfortable. She laughed and said that she wasn't uncomfortable. She thought that it was a sweet story, and she was flattered that I wrote it for her. I asked her why she tore up my notes, and she told me that she thought that I housed my "perverted stories" in the same place as my novel, and that she was upset about that. I told her that I only wrote two stories with us in them: the love story and the so-called "erotica". I told her that I didn't house all of my perverted works in the same place as my novel, and that the two stories I wrote for her were the only exceptions. She told me that she was sorry for tearing up my notes, and she promised to help me put them back together. I told her that I forgave her, and I apologized for making her uncomfortable. We spent the rest of the night talking, and we both fell asleep with each other in our arms. I'm glad that this got resolved, and I'm happy to say that me and Carrie are still together. Thanks for all of the feedback, folks. Have a good one.

EDIT 3: This is my last update regarding this topic. Me and Carrie put my notes back together last night. It took almost three hours, but we got it all done. I'm willing to admit that the way I kept my notes was disorganized, but thanks to Carrie, I now have all of my notes neatly organized in separate folders in my desk. She is Clever. I appreciate all of the feedback that I got from this post. Thank you all.
