I'm a 32F and single with a 5 year old. How do I make the right decisions about my finances and my daughter's education?

I'm an attorney, and I'm doing pretty well. I've been trying for a few years to make a decision about schools for my daughter. I think I might be in a position to buy a house this spring/summer, but I also need to consider where to send my daughter to school next year if I do that. We live in Boston and the schools are pretty bad, and I'm running out of time to figure out what to do. Should I send her to a private school, and then live in the suburbs and commute in and out of Boston Monday through Friday? I would rather her go to a good public school, but I'm worried that if I do that, then I will be committing to live in an area with a good school for the rest of her childhood, or at least until she goes to college, and I don't know if I want to do that, or am ready to do that. I also have not spent a lot of time in the suburbs, and am not sure what it would be like to move there. How should I make the right decision for my daughter and for me? I feel like I'm maybe not thinking of all the factors.

TL;DR: I'm 32F single mom and a lawyer. I'm trying to decide what to do with my daughter's education and where to live. I'm having a hard time evaluating the many different options, and am wondering what other people think and what other factors I should be considering.
