House votes to boot Santos after six Republicans demand expulsion

The House voted Friday to expel freshman Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) following a letter signed by six Republicans calling for such action.<br><br>In the 311-114 vote, 169 Republicans voted in favor of expulsion, two voted present, and 202 Democrats voted for expulsion. The remaining 114 members who voted against expulsion were Republicans.<br><br>The vote comes after an ethics committee report released this week concluded Santos committed fraud, misused campaign funds, and sexually harassed a staffer. The report also accused Santos of neglecting to cooperate with the committee.<br><br>The letter calling for Santos’ expulsion was signed by GOP representatives serving on the ethics committee, which include Reps. Kat Cammack (Fla.), Michael Guest (Miss.), Matt Rosendale (Mont.), Russ Fulcher (Idaho), Tony Gonzales (Texas), and Anthony D'Esposito (N.Y.).
