I eat a 1600 calorie a day diet. I'm always looking for new ways to add protein, which means I eat a lot of chicken breasts. I mean, a LOT of chicken breasts. Recently I ran out of room in my fridge to store them, so I froze a few dozen in a large ziplock bag.

I did the meal prep and freezer method. I fill a bunch of plastic containers with a 3 oz chicken breast, cooked to perfection, topped with a 2 oz helping of steamed vegetables. I put a half of the top to a half of the bottom of two containers, and then freeze them. The ends of the two containers fit together like a puzzle piece. This is both cheaper than the standard method of meal prep, and also leaves more room for storage.

I also baby food prep. If your child is eating solid food, I suggest you do the same. I buy chicken breasts, fruits and vegetables in bulk, and then cook them in large batches. I do meal prep containers for them as well, and store them in a large ziplock bag.

The other day I went to thaw a chicken breast to make soup. I pull a chicken breast out of the bag and I notice something is wrong with it. It's too small, too thin. It's mushy, and clearly past its expiration date. I realized that I accidentally grabbed a baby food prep container.

So I decided to eat it anyway. It was obviously spoiled, as it smelled like garbage, but it didn't appear to be slimy or moldy. I've always wondered how long it would take a person to notice spoiled food if it was mixed with obviously fresh ingredients.

So I mixed the chicken with some uncooked rice, fresh veggies, raw bacon, and a half cup of chicken gravy. Then I immediately ate it.

It's been 2 days and I'm feeling fine.

edit: For everyone saying this wasn't spoiled- I'm a mom of three. I've fed spoiled milk, meat, food, and even formula to my kids when I didn't realize it was bad. Once I even knew it was bad and still fed it to them.

One time I left a bottle of formula in my SUV for an entire day. I knew it was probably spoiled, but left it there for convenience. The baby was hungry, and I was tired. It was the middle of the night. I was wrong, and I probably could have poisoned my baby. But I didn't. She lived, and she's fine.

Another time I went a month feeding my kids spoiled formula. I was in denial because formula is expensive, and I didn't want to admit I had failed.

Both times they got so sick they had diarrhea that looked like blood. It was probably the liquid poop that you see on chambers sometimes, but it's truly terrifying as a parent. My kids have projectile vomited, and been obviously sick.

The liquid poop type of diarrhea happens when bacteria is eating the lining of the intestines and it bleeds. It's a very painful, awful sickness. You'll immediately know when you've messed up, because your baby will be covered in shit, multiple times, and vomiting along with it.

When this happens a baby needs pediatric formula. I usually use pedialyte, but it's like formula and has nutrients, so the baby doesn't starve.

I know exactly what spoiled baby food looks like, and I can tell when it's gone bad. It doesn't smell like garbage, it looks like it's gone bad. It's not slimy, but it's not soft and creamy like it's supposed to be. It's lumpy, stringy, or in a long solid sheet. It's a different color, sometimes it's slimy. It clearly looks off, which is why I know it was spoiled. I've fed my babies spoiled food a lot of times. You'll know when it's bad, and you'll know when your baby is sick. I've messed up a lot of times as a parent.

The food I ate was spoiled. It looked and smelled bad. I know exactly what I saw.

I ate it on purpose, which was stupid. Don't eat spoiled food.

Edit 2: for everyone telling me to stop having kids- I won't.

I love my babies, and I want more. I'm not stopping. I've already had 3, so clearly my children are healthy. They're not malnourished or abused in any way. You have no right to judge my parenting. One of my children has food allergies, which is why they need baby food prep. Don't tell me to get my tubes tied.

You have a right to an opinion, but you have no right to judge me.

Edit 3: for those of you saying it's dangerous for me to talk about this-

I have 3 kids. Clearly they are not dead.

If anything I've said is contradictory, it's because I'm a mother of 3 young children and I don't have the time or energy to proof read. I'm currently breastfeeding a baby right now. I'm tired and distracted, and I have 3 small kids. Please excuse me for clearly being exhausted. Don't tell me to proof read when I have 3 kids distracting me non stop.

He clearly ate the food. Don't tell me to reword it. I'm too tired to care.

I obviously know what spoiled baby food looks like, and I obviously know what to do when it goes bad. I'm the mom in the story, and I have 3 healthy babies.

I'm tired, so I'm not going to go through the hundreds of comments and answer your questions.

Please stop sending me messages- I'm tired. I'm not going to answer your questions.

The food was frozen.

I'm not going to debate with you.
