2 years ago, I made a budget for myself. I was making 4,000$ a month steadily, and had no savings. I had 12,000$ in debt (2,500$ CC, 3,300$ student loan, 5,500$ car loan, 700$ overdraft, and 1,000$ car loan2). I cut my expenses by a lot. I moved back in with my parents, bought a new car (4000$ cash), had no utilities to pay, and spent very little on anything. I had a side job making another 1500$ per month. I decided that I would put 1600$ a month towards my debts. <br><br>2 years later, I am steadily making 5500$ a month. I have no debt and no expenses, so I have been putting 1600$ a month towards my savings. I have managed to steadily save for the last 2 years. I am proud of myself. I could have spent all that money on dumb stuff, but I didn't. A side note, 2 years ago, I still didnt have a checking account. I've come a long way.
