I work in a medical office and I am so tired of no call no shows and last second cancellations. It is so much better for everyone if you communicate with the staff. If you’re early and have to cancel, we can get someone else in the spot and schedule you for another time, and you won’t have to deal with the awkwardness of canceling last minute. If you’re late for your appointment and have to cancel, then we can get someone else in your spot. <br><br>I’ve seen so many patients who get turned away because we’re booked for the day and don’t have any openings. Then those patients have to deal with the inconvenience of having to wait to get in. <br><br>I know we all get excited to get in and out if an appointment, but please don’t come in before your appointment time and then not tell the staff you’re here, or you might not get seen. I’ve had so many patients get angry with me because they were there 30 minutes before their appointment and didn’t tell anyone they were there, and I didn’t know they were in the waiting room. If I come out and call your name and you’re not there, I can’t just wait for you to come up. We all have other things we need to do.
