Raja Balwant Singh from 18th century

A Maratha prince from the 18th century. This brave and courageous king testified against the aggressive expansionist policies of the British and refused to pay the British any kind of taxes. He was one of the first to initiate the 1857 revolt. He had his capital in Awadh and was a Maratha ruler. He and his family fought bravely side by side with the rest of the Indian rulers and the people who testified against the aggressive expansionist policies of the British. He had a very strong belief in his duty as a ruler to protect his kingdom, his people, and his religion. He truly was a king like Shivaji and Krishnadeva Raya.
