I’ve been living in Japan for over a year now, and I can honestly say it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

My Japanese proficiency is B2, and I’m having a lot of trouble finding a job. A lot of people are in my situation, and it’s very stressful. I’ve already spent 10,000 USD on living here, and now the only thing keeping me here is the visa, which is a terrible reason to stay in a country. I feel like a dog on a leash. I really hate my life in Japan, and I can’t wait to leave.

Japan, aside from a few niches, is no longer a great place to live or work. If you want to improve your mental health and your life, go anywhere else.

I’m sorry if this post is all over the place, but I really hope it helps someone.
