I’ve asked to take the next week off from work. I have spent the past year doing my best to physically plan out my first novel, and I feel I’m ready to actually start writing as I’ve spent months trying to flesh out characters and world building.

My goal is to try and write a chapter a day for the next week. My goal is to be able to physically see the story play out as it happens and the best way I feel I can do that is to actually write it physically with pen and paper, I intend on typing it out before I move on to the next chapter.

I’m planning on writing about 1k words a day, and to be honest, I wish I could do more, the issue for me is that I also have a family, my physically disabled son, and my husband. My son needs physical therapy as well as speech therapy. I intend on doing this in the morning.

I’m hoping to use his nap time to write. He’s been having trouble with his naps lately so I’m not sure if that will happen.

I’ve been actually outlining my story as I go along. I’m doing this so I can see my story visually, I’m able to see my character growth with ease as well as physically see the challenges my characters are going to face, and the challenges that they’ll have to overcome.

I’m hoping to be able to write a little every day after the week is up. I plan on working on my world building as I go along. I feel my story is strong physically with characters, it’s physically mapping the world and lands they’ll travel that I feel I need to continue working on. I’m not sure how I didn’t realize how much work world building would be physically mapping the world? But I’m excited to see his world physically as I go along.

I’m not sure if this is the correct way to go about it, I’ve read that sometimes world building should be done first before physically sitting down to write the story. I feel that world building is easier if you know your character’s first.

I’m still reading and learning.
