What's the best way to explain to 5 year olds why I'm buying them gifts?

I took "like I'm 5" pretty literally, but I'll try to explain it in a way that a 5 year old can understand but not necessarily like they are 5:<br><br>**Why am I buying gifts for them?**<br><br>I know you are normally scared of strangers, but we became friends when your parents let you play with me and now we have something called friendship. I like you and that's why I want to give you something nice. We are friends because I'm normally nice to you and that's why you aren't scared of me anymore. A lot of people do nice things for their friends and that's why I want to give you something nice.<br><br>**Why do I want to be friends with you?**<br><br>I love kids and that's why I started babysitting you. At first I just wanted to spend time with you but now I really like you and I want to be friends with you. Sometimes you need friends that aren't your parents and that can help you or hang out with you and talk with you. You can talk with me about anything you want. That's why I want to be friends with you.<br><br>**Why do my parents let you hang out with me?**<br><br>I wouldn't hang out with you if I wasn't allowed to. Your parents know that I'm a good person and that they can trust me. A lot of people do this to earn money so they can buy things they want.<br><br>**Why do my parents have to pay you?**<br><br>This is a job for me. Some people have to work to earn money, so they can buy things they want. Because it's a job that's why your parents have to pay me, but I'm happy that I get to spend time with you. I could easily do a different job instead of this. I do things that your parents do with you, like feeding you, dressing you or playing with you. But I'm not your parents, that's why I have to get paid by them. I'm normally really nice to you, because I like you so much.<br><br>**Why do I have to go to school?**<br><br>I'm not allowed to babysit you forever because it's not good for you to never go to school. You have to learn things, that you need in life but you also need to learn social things. I'm normally alone with you and we don't have a lot of other people we can play with. You have to learn things so you can make more friends and get a good job when you're older. I'm so happy that I get to spend so much time with you and it makes me sad that I won't be able to spend as much time with you anymore. But I'll always be your friend and you can talk with me about anything you want.
