I say “hi” to my students

I say “hi” to my students. I always make time to speak to them. I was bullied so badly as a kid due to my face, that I never want any child to feel like I did. I teach elementary and say “hi” to them at recess, lunch, as they pass in the halls, etc. I also make a point to speak to the paras, lunch lady, and custodians. They are people too and deserve a little bit of kindness. I want my students to see that we are equal and I truly do love them.
