Intake Form

Lots of people were complaining about how indicative the intake form was, albeit in different ways. I suspect that's because people had been coming up with ideas for live stream improv and were trying to force that into their applications. So I decided to write an application with an empty slate on the idea for a live stream improv game. I wrote one based on the intake and came up with this:

What would you like to play:

It seems like an old mansion was found a ways away from a small town. It hasn't been lived in for a generation. The owner is rumored to be an eccentric billionaire who still hasn't been found. Since he's been missing for over thirty years, it's highly unlikely he's still alive. The house was inherited by his descendants. One of his children found a letter that was left for his grandkids. He claims that he left a game that starts at the entrance and goes all around the mansion. However, it's not for his grandchildren. He states that he'll be dead long before they turn 18. Instead it's for him. He wants to see how others would interact with the games he set up. He says the house is safe, but that there are some guardrails to keep things from getting out of hand. He claims it's a mental workout that will improve creativity, mental clarity, and dexterity. Throughout the game he'll have multiple paths to choose from, different trials to face, and unexpected consequences for prior decisions. He leaves instructions for his children and grandchildren to be respectful to whoever is playing his game. He claims that he won't be a participant, but that he won't be a ghost either. He wants to watch and interact. His letter ends with an address and instructions to get to the mansion.

Your job as the players is to walk through the mansion and play the games. You'll have to make choices as to how to face each stage of the game. The host will explain the rules, the stakes, and the rewards. You'll decide how to proceed. From there, it's up to your skill and ingenuity.

That's it. What do you think?
