Call me a pessimist and maybe you're right but I think we've reached the pinnacle of human achievement as a species, and this is the best it's going to get.

I think we've reached the best it's ever going to be in the world and as a species. I think we've already reached the pinnacle of what it means to be human. The world may and probably will change, but I don't think it will change for the better. We have the internet and access to any information ever. We have easier communication than ever before; we can talk to anyone at any time. We have better access to clean water; clean food; clean air; better living conditions. The world is as it will ever be. Maybe we'll have a utopia; maybe we'll have a dystopia. Or maybe our fate is extinction. But this is the world; people are people and they won't change. They will forever be flawed. But this is the pinnacle of human life. Whether you think we as a race have been moving in a positive or negative direction; this is the best. You may think with the advent of AI that we'll reach a new pinnacle sometime down the line. But I think the world is already as good as it's ever going to get.
