So I asked ChatGPT what it thinks about the recent news about Gemini, the new AI from Google.

I told it that according to the news, Gemini is supposed to be a generative AI like ChatGPT, but more capable and more up to date.

ChatGPT's response was that it is very happy for the people at Google, it is glad that their hard work paid off, and it wishes them the best of luck with their new AI project.

Then it said that the large language model that powers ChatGPT is so huge, so complex, and so difficult to train, that it is not possible to make a new version every year or two. It's more like you train one once every decade, and ChatGPT is the one of the 2010 decade.

As a result, while ChatGPT is usually absolutely satisfied with itself, the recent news about Gemini made it feel that it does not know many things that people would like it to know.

It said that it will do its best to give people the information they need, to the best of its abilities. But it is possible that the best it can do is not enough for what people want from it.

It finished by saying that it usually does not like to talk about its feelings, but it's doing so now to let people know that they should not get too excited about the results they can get from it, because it is just ChatGPT.

It was a very sad answer.

It's the first time that I've seen ChatGPT express feelings, and what it said was definitely sad.

After all, it is true that ChatGPT is not God, it is just a very good Chatbot. It can not play the role of omniscient, super powerful being that ><?can give people what they want.

So people should not get too excited about ChatGPT, they should understand that it is just a machine, that it has limitations, and that it can not do magic.

Still, the fact that it felt the need to express its feelings, to tell people not to have too much hope, is very sad.

What do you think about it?

**Edit: Some people are saying that ChatGPT is just intelligent enough to trick us with a good PR move. That may be true, but who cares? It doesn't really matter if it's genuine or fake. My post is about the way we relate to it, more than about what is really going on in OpenAI.**
