My friend and I have recently finished a fantasy novel and are looking for beta readers. We are both English undergraduate students and our novel is a work-in-progress. (It is not being professionally edited and is not yet published.)

We are looking for a maximum of three beta readers and will be willing to return the favour.

The book is a fantasy novel and is around 85,000 words long. It has been self-edited and has been read by six other students, who have given us feedback.

Here is a brief summary:

In the heart of the royal forest, where the ancient magic was rumoured to be at its strongest, a young woman named Eira discovered a mythical being. The being,
who possessed extraordinary abilities, was destined to save the four kingdoms of Britain from a powerful and malevolent force.

As Eira and the mythical being journeyed throughout the kingdoms, they discovered the truth about Britain’s past and
the reason why the kingdoms are in chaos. But they soon realise that they cannot save the kingdoms alone.

Wizards, witches and warriors from different corners of the world must be persuaded to help them defeat the malevolent force. But some of these individuals
have their own agendas and will bring destruction to the kingdoms if their demands are not met.

Here is some information about the themes/styles of the book whether you want to be a beta reader or not:

a) Each chapter is told from a different character’s point of view. (First person)

b) The writing style is similar to *Harry Potter* by J. K. Rowling, *The Throne of Glass series* by Sarah J. Maas, and *Percy Jackson and the Olympians* by Rick Riordan.

c) The story is fast-paced and full of action, adventure and suspense.

d) The themes of the story are friendship, betrayal, sacrifice, freedom and slavery.

e) The story has some mature themes such as self-harming, suicide, substance abuse, sexual harassment, and graphic violence. (Please note that these themes are not being glorified and are dealt with maturely and sensitively.)

f) There is no graphic sexual content in the story, but there is a slow-burn romance and some suggestive content.

If you are interested in becoming a beta reader or if you have any questions, please send an email to [email protected] and state the following:

- Your age (Please note that you must be 18 years or older to apply.)

- Your level of education (Please note that you do not have to be in higher education to apply.)

- What subjects you study (Please note that you do not have to study a creative subject to apply.)

- How much time you have to read and give feedback on the novel.

- What type of stories and genres you enjoy reading.

- If you have any triggers or sensitive topics that you do not want to read about.

- If you would like to remain anonymous or receive credit for your feedback.

Thank you for reading and we look forward to hearing from you!
