My step uncle was a stalker...

This happened to my family about 10-15 years ago but I am just now starting to think about how creepy it was. My mom's brother passed away when I was a baby and his wife "Jill" was still pretty close with my mom and our family. <br><br>Jill met a guy "Bob" from her church a little after her husband passed away and it seemed like a whirlwind relationship from the outside. They were together for a little over a year when Jill and Bob got married. <br><br>Bob started showing up at family functions not long after they met and honestly my family didn't really like him. He smelled bad, didn't shower, and was always sneaking around at parties and looking through people's stuff. We chalked it up to him being from a "poor" background and maybe he didn't have the best upbringing. <br><br>My family was pretty close knit and the majority of us lived in the same city. After Jill and Bob got married they decided to move to the other side of the country. <br><br>Fast forward to a few years ago. I was in my mid-twenties and living in an apartment close to my university while I got my bachelors degree. I was in a relationship with two guys at the time and one of them "Mark" lived with me in the apartment. Mark was not originally from the city/state we were living in and was from the same state Jill and Bob moved to. <br><br>One day Mark gets a call from Bob and Jill saying they are in our city and would love to meet up with Mark and I for lunch! We were pretty confused since they lived on the other side of the country and it turned out they were in our city for a business seminar. <br><br>We all met up and Bob and Jill were extremely nice and polite. I was a bit surprised my extended family members were being so nice and kind to my partner Mark. But we all had a really nice lunch and said our good-byes. <br><br>It wasn't until a few days later Mark started telling me about how Bob and Jill used to visit him when he was a kid. Mark told me that they would come to his parent's house randomly to "hang out". Mark's parents thought it was a little strange but figured they just missed their old city/state. <br><br>A few weeks went by and Mark starts getting random phone calls from Bob and Jill saying how much they missed him and wished they could see him in person again. Mark and I decided it was time to tell my mom and she immediately told us that Bob and Jill were not in our city for a seminar. They actually moved to our city a year ago and have been lurking around my family members ever since. <br><br>Bob and Jill would show up randomly at my aunts office, my cousin's classes in college, my other cousin's sports games ect. And they would always tell us they just happened to be in the area doing chores! My mom said they were stalkers and to stay away from them. <br><br>Mark and I made it very clear to Bob and Jill that they were not to contact us again and to stay away from us. We even went so far as to change our phone numbers. <br><br>The whole thing was incredibly creepy and we didn't realize how bad it was until we were adults. It's crazy to think that there are people in the world who do this kind of stuff. <br><br>Let's not meet again Bob and Jill. <br><br>Edit: I wanted to let everyone know that I am safe and sound.
