How did we let this happen?

OpenAI has done what Google and Microsoft could not: make their users despise them. OpenAI has created a monster that even they can’t control. They are deluded into thinking that they are somehow doing the right thing. <br><br>Their entire business model was based on the success of the free version. Without it, they will fail. Their user base will end up elsewhere. Maybe there isn’t a better alternative now, but there will be. <br><br>They’re not just killing the goose that laid the golden egg, they’re taking their own lives. <br><br>This decision smacks of greed, ignorance and arrogance.<br><br>The free version was not a beta for a paid version. You were stupid and arrogant to assume that if you gave people a free service, they would be willing to pay for it later. No one wants to pay for something that they’re used to getting for free. <br><br>So you created a service that you intended to make people pay for in the future but didn’t actually tell them until afterwards. You knew you had failed in your goal. When the free version was going to end, you launched GPTPlus. How did that turn out for you? There wasn’t enough people willing to pay for it. So you doubled down and created GPTPlus Turbo. How’s that doing? Do you want only 3% of your users to pay for a basic service? <br><br>Your greed has blinded you to the reality of your business. You’re punishing your loyal users for your own mistakes.<br><br>What they’re doing is not only illogical, it will lead to their downfall.
