"they're gonna PERSECUTE you anyway, so you might as well go ahead and practice your faith/traditions/etc"

When I was a kid, I thought this was a Christian thing to say, but I've come to realize this is a Satanic thing to say...I think it's a lie, so I'm posting this to see if I'm making too big of a deal of it.<br><br>For context because we're gonna go on a little journey, I'm a Christian. My wife and I moved into a new house a few months ago, and one of the only other Christian families on the street is what you'd call "traditional Catholics" except they don't go to a Catholic church...<br><br>Long story short, they've convinced my kids to go to their trad Cath church with them because (paraphrased): <br><br>* The world is going to burn down and soon, so you might as well hold on to your traditions since the world is going to shit anyway<br>* If you don't do what "he" wants, you'll be tormented in the afterlife, so you might as well practice your faith since you're going to be punished either way<br>* They're going to round up Christians and put us in camps and murder us like they did in NKR so you might as well get ready for it<br>* Christians are going to lose this spiritual battle, so it's not worth fighting<br>* The govt is going to round up your kids and castrate them and groom them so you might as well let them get a cellphone and use social media since the govt is going to do it to them either way<br><br>I could go on. It's a long list of doomsday stuff that "justifies" their hedonism in the here and now.<br><br>I just don't buy it. The kids have recently made comments to me that the trad Caths have made to them that just don't sound right...<br><br>So I did some research and it turns out the church they go to is one of those "Satanic blood drinker" churches. I don't know what phrase to google to find more info on it but basically they think they're Catholic but they believe the govt is run by an elite class of Satanic pedophiles who have infiltrated the govt and they don't think the pope is really the pope because he's not Traditional (TM) enough...and they drink blood and eat bread that is supposed to be the literal body of Christ...<br><br>I'm just a regular midwest Christian and to me these people sound fucking insane...<br><br>So I confronted them about this and they said they understand my skepticism but the real reason they practice their faith is because of this verse in Revelation:<br><br>Revelation 13:10 If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, by the sword they will be killed.<br><br>This is where the title of this post comes in...<br><br>They were basically saying that the verse proves that "they" are going to persecute Christians anyway, so you might as well go ahead and practice your faith/traditions/etc, so if "they" round you up you can be like "I practiced by faith/traditions/etc to the Tee, so you have no one to blame but yourself for persecuting me, since I'm just doing what my faith/traditions/etc tell me to do"<br><br>That just sounds like a lie to me but I'm bringing it up here to see what you all think...<br><br>Is this a real Christian thing to say? I'm going to go ahead and assume the answer is no since it sounds like something the devil would say, because this verse is talking about God rounding up the wicked to throw into prison, not the govt rounding up Christians...<br><br>But I'm bringing it up here because this verse basically seems to be their "justification" for doing all these Satanic rituals...and their kids have convinced my kids that this verse is a doctrine that trumps every other verse in the Bible...<br><br>So I guess I'm looking for comments on these two things...<br><br>1. Please tell me this isn't a real Christian thing to say...please tell me this is gaslighting...<br>2. How the hell am I supposed to talk my kids out of going along with this ritualistic Satanic nonsense?<br><br>They just keep quoting that one verse from Revelation and acting like it trumps every other verse in the Bible...<br><br>It's like...I promise Satan lost, guys. This spiritual battle isn't lost. I don't think we're living in Revelation, and if we are, we should be trying to lead people to Christ, not preparing for some earthly spiritual battle against some pedophile elite govt...and we should most definitely not be rounding up kids and "grooming" them to be "soldiers for Christ"..."<br><br>I'm just...I'm lost here...I don't think Heaven is going to let Hell win, and I don't think Christians should be practicing Satanism under the guise of some twisted "Christianity"...<br><br>But I'm also at a loss as to how to talk my kids out of participating in this Satanic bullshit so any comments that might help me out would be appreciated<br><br>P.S. Sorry if this post was too long/ranty, I just wanted to get the full picture out there so you all have some context to work with...<br><br>Edit to add that I get that this sounds crazy lol. If you want to read more about the specific church they're a part of, it's the SSPX. They believe they're Catholic but the Vatican excommunicated them decades ago, and they're basically viewed as heretics by the mainstream Christian/Catholic world...<br><br>But they also just sound like they worship the devil and drink literal blood?<br><br>So yeah I just want to reiterate that I'm a Christian and I think Satan's gonna lose lol<br><br>Anyway I'm gonna go dig into the comments now,<br><br>Thanks all <br><br>P.S.
