So learning criminology has made me realize how terrible of an idea a super hero is

I mean imagine batman in real life, and then imagine the amount of evidence he would be hoarding of everything he touches. And if that isn't a problem in itself, the fact that he is stealing it from a crime scene is probably the biggest issue. Any conviction of any criminal person would be overturned and thrown out because of the lack of chain of custody, or that it was tampered with before making it to the lab. Of course there's also the problem of it simply being robbed from the crime scene.

I can't think of a worse crime fighter than a vigilante, and if there were someone in the real world who was running around in a batman style suit he'd be a villain. In fact, in the first batman movie of the new batman movie "The Batman", he's thought of as a villain by the police and the crime world. Which that take on the character makes him something he actually is, a villain.
