Lithuanians are mad about the idea of "Soviet occupation"

Why? It's a fact you were occupied by the brutal Soviet Union for 50 years.<br><br>That was a depopulation disaster for Lithuanians who had their culture controlled, economy destroyed, and people deported and murdered by forced labor and death camps.<br><br>Sure, the Soviet government, for all its faults, built infrastructure and allowed those dumb Lithuanians the privilege of not starving to death since their economy was shit (and still is). However, it's right to say Klaipeda was stolen from Germany since it was a free city that voted to join Germany and then was brutally annexed by Lithuania.<br><br>I hope Lithuanians stop pretending like they're the victim and their precious "independence" that they got through Soviet occupation wasn't a gift. The Baltics are not important enough to be occupied by a major power, especially not now. In fact, the security of the entire area would be better if they were occupied by Germany/NATO so they can be protected. Is this the best they can get? I guess so, but I wish they would stop whining about a government that doesn't care about them.
