I've got what I believe to be a somewhat unusual problem. I've lost my job in the pandemic and I'm 35, and I've never once dealt with a career counselor. I've always just been good enough at alarmingly different things that I've always been able to make a living. But I'm not getting any younger, and now I've got a decent amount of time when I think a career counsellor would be really, really helpful.

I want to make the most of this experience. I've already got a good sense of what jobs pay well, what's available, and what the job market looks like. What I've never really had the opportunity to explore was what makes a good career for *me*.

So, has anybody ever used a career counselor? Was there any advice that they gave you that was particularly helpful?
