What are the chances of the US ending up like Japan?

I'm studying the decline of the US and keep finding constants between Japan and the US. Possibly even the UK. Japan had a bustling economy in the 1960s and 70s, but at the end of the 80s it collapsed. The government saw a mass migration of people from the rural areas to the cities, which ended in a huge economic boom, but then due to lack of workers in the rural areas goods started to skyrocket. Eventually the economy just collapsed.

We could be seeing something very similar. Over the last couple of decades people have been moving to the cities and the rural areas are dying. What are the chances of us actually ending up like Japan where our economy collapses as well?
