What if we're already in a mass video game that is simulating us

Imagine a time before ours, where civilization was already so advanced in information technology, there was a point that the human mind would not be able to remember anything due to how quickly information technology had been changing. The result of that is that your memories may not be your own. They could be made up by a board of super intelligent scientists that could manipulate what they wanted or something.<br><br>Imagine if we're all simulated from a game that the current government were playing for decades now. Imagine if we were living in a video game. Does the concept of that even make sense to you? Would you want that to be true and if so why?
