CMV: The US's policy of not selling military equipment to Taiwan is self-defeating.

Title.<br><br>The US's policy of not selling military equipment to Taiwan is ridiculous and counterproductive. Taiwan is only 100 miles from mainland China, and they need weapons that have the range to hit military targets in mainland China. The reason for the policy is that China has stated that selling these weapons would be the equivalent of an act of war. The US doesn't want to risk war with China, but, in my view, war with China is inevitable. In my view, the US should not be cowed by China's threats and should sell these weapons to Taiwan to give China an incentive to not attack.
