Hi, everyone. I’m sure that many of you have heard that Chambers is going to begin enforcing a policy where sub owners must pay for any NSFW content allowed on the site, going forward, which has caused a lot of chambers to either migrate, go private, or simply close down.

After talking with some of the other mods here, we've decided to migrate to a paid sub. That's right, you heard that right, Creative Writing will be migrating to a subscription-based model, where you pay for the privilege to browse through your favourite sub, and get the same, high-quality content you're used to.

Over the past few years, we've seen both an explosion in popularity, and a massive drop-off in engagement, and with rising costs, and decreased engagement, combined with a small, but dedicated mod team, it's been harder to keep up with the demand, especially when we're losing mods left and right.

The paid model will allow many perks to you as well, including a boost in upvotes for your posts, so you can get your content in front of more eyes than ever, and that will also translate over when you post on other subs. Additionally, you’ll get access to NSFW content that you can’t currently get without having to go to a different sub, and the NSFW flair will be removed, so you can browse your sub in peace, without having to change your settings.

As for how much it will cost, the price hasn’t been decided yet, but we’re thinking somewhere in the range of $5-10 a month. We also haven’t decided what the name of the new sub will be, but it will likely be something like r/NSFWCreativeWriting, or something like that.

Anyway, the official announcement of the address of the new sub will be made in about a week, and after that, the sub will be made private, and the mod team will transition over, and this sub will serve as a redirect link to the new sub.

So, to summarise, this sub is migrating to a paid subscription model, and becoming private, in order to keep up with rising costs.

Or, at least, that's what we'd like you to think.

April fools.
