Why do people think there is a mind-body problem?

A question I haven’t heard discussed in a while so I thought I’d post it here.

I’ve always been a little perplexed by how people consider the relationship between the mind and the brain to be a ‘problem’. I would call the mind-body problem a hurdle in our understanding of human consciousness, but a problem only if you subscribe to dualism. Even then, if history has shown one thing, it's that in the judgement of science, philosophy is always ruled out. Why don't we just accept that the mind is like a program installed in the brain? I remember a great quote from the philosopher Nick Bostrom: "the mind is a program being run by a computer called the brain."
