Can someone explain what the fuck is going on in the US?

I woke up to a bunch of tweets from Trump on my phone, and saw a video a girl on tiktok posted on instagram of a police car running down protesters then driving away. Is that a real video? I’m in the UK so I don’t know what’s going on, I’ve been visiting the r/unpopularopinion chamber (it’s all very political and American etc) but idk where to look for information.<br><br>Warning for anyone American - I have very strong feelings on Trump, though I try to remain neutral/ non biased.
