I love my job, but right now I hate my students. I am so tired of violence, bullying, and disrespect.

I cried in my classroom today. <br>A substitute teacher was attacked by a student while I was in the room. I have never in my 13 years seen a student attack a teacher. To make it worse, the student that attacked the substitute teacher was a typically sweet student. The student thought that the substitute teacher locked them in the classroom and was trying to escape. They kicked the substitute in the head/face until the substitute let them out. Now the substitute teacher is in the hospital since they are an older teacher and the student is a large football player. The student is now up for expulsion. An expulsion hearing will be held to determine whether the student will be expelled or not.<br><br>I stayed with the substitute during the attack, calling 911, the administration, and the school resource officer. I stayed with the substitute teacher until the paramedics came and left with them to go to the hospital. <br><br>I just want to go home and cry. I hate my students. I hate this job.
