Who would be king of Great Britain if not for the execution of King Charles I in 1650?

This is a question that I have found myself pondering. I personally have sadly not been able to trace the Stuart line any further than the ill-fated Bonnie Prince Charlie, and can only imagine that the line of James II (the brother of Charles and his successor) would have brought forth a new line of monarchs had Charles not been executed.
