The amount of users here going on and on about how to specialize in a career is ridiculous.

I don't want to seem overly critical, but the vast, vast majority of you would benefit more from having a job and learning how to do it well.

A good example is some guy going on about how he started a career as a data scientist and is currently specialize in machine learning algorithms that generate synthetic audio. So that's great.

I'm sure there are many more talented people in the field, but given just these two examples you would think his specialization would be far more valuable.

However, he is constantly stressed, works 12 hour days, and is constantly being forced to jump through hoops for the ever shifting demands of his company.

Meanwhile the data scientist just enjoys his work, and has plenty of time to work on side projects if he wants to.
