What happened to this sub the last few years?

I used to love following this sub, and still do, but it seems to have taken a drastic turn the past few years. What happened to a large amount of the recent posts feeling like they were just random link after random link with no meaningful purpose. The front page was full of quality content and it feels like that’s changed dramatically and the quality has went down with it. Just curious what was the turning point of this sub?
