This wasn’t an election, it was a war

This was the first time I made a serious effort to phone bank. I can’t count how many phone calls I made. In between those, I reminded people in my social media bubble to vote. I yelled at people to vote at my university. I went to a protest after the election. I’m one of those assholes who turned into a vote shaming meme, and you know what? Fuck it, I’d do it all over again, I’d do it for every goddamn election from now on. I’d do it over and over and over and I wouldn’t shut up, because this was the most important thing I’ve ever done.<br><br>If you voted blue this year, you need to feel the same way I do. If you didn’t, then you’d better get ready, because we’re coming, and we won’t back down. You will have no peace, because we won’t let you have any.<br><br>Donald Trump is not a politician. He is a war criminal. He is a sociopath. He is a racist and a sexist and he is a rapist and a bigot. He cannot be treated as a political opponent; he is an enemy. If you support him, you are complicit in his evil. You are complicit in every woman who is sexually harassed, every black person who is shot, every trans teenager who kills themselves. You are complicit in his evil, and you will never know peace.<br><br>This was not an election. It was a war. We lost this battle, but we will win the war. We will fight at every turn, we will fight in the streets and online and in your face. We will fight on the front lines and we will fight in the shadows. We will shun you socially. We will make you uncomfortable. We will humiliate you and we will make you feel like what you are: traitors and bigots. You will never know peace.<br><br>We will harass you so relentlessly that you will curse the day you ever backed that orange bastard. You will curse the day you were born. Can you feel it? It’s your blood pressure rising. It’s your face turning red. You’re grinding your teeth. It’s the feeling of your heart exploding with rage. I know you feel it, because I feel it. I feel it burning deep within my heart. I hate you. I hate you with every fibre of my being. I hate you with every breath I take. I hate you with every beat of my heart. I hate every single one of you. I hate your children. I hate your parents. I hate your pets. Most of all, I hate you. You are traitors. You are human scum. You are evil people. I will never forgive you. I will never love you. I hate every single one of you.<br><br>Now you know how we feel. Now you know what’s coming. Now you know why you will never know peace. We’ve made this very clear, and you need to understand it, because this is what the next four years are going to be like. You will have no peace. You will have no friends. You will have no family outside of your racist enclaves. You will be alone. You will be angry. And you will lose.<br><br>You will lose, because you are taking on people who care. You are taking on people who are willing to fight and die for freedom and equality. We are not like you. We are better than you. We are strong and resilient. We are heroic. And we will never surrender to your tyranny.<br><br>You will never know peace. We will fight you until the day we die. We will fight you until our last breaths. We will fight you until the day you die. We will fight you, and we will win. We are the people. This is our country. And we will never back down.<br><br>You will never know peace.
