What are your opinions on anime recommendation services that are like "I read your mind!"

Recently I've been seeing more and more websites or programs or even more specifically YouTube channels which do like automated recommendations based on what you tell them you enjoy, and a lot of them have a little phrase like this like they're reading your mind to tailor recommendations to your tastes. And the thing is, as a fan of anime for over 15 years and 5 years worth of recommendations in the chat every day, I know all too well they're just recommending the same shows everyone tells you or using AI to guess what you like based on your interests.<br><br>What does the sub think of these software and apps that claim to read your mind? They seem very prominent lately, and I'm sure a lot of you have used them and have since unsubscribed from their channels because it's an algorithm performing a job that humans can do just as well but without using computer code and sophisticated algorithms, perhaps even better because after all humans know more about humans than computers do, especially if the humans are fans of anime!<br><br>I personally love discussing recommendations, but I don't think there's anything better than going to a chamber and talking to people. I know that there's a lot of popular YouTubers out there, but I personally love talking to people about recommendations more than I do just watching what someone else says, because I feel like you can have a lot better quality of recommendation when you get to interact with the person who is giving you them.<br><br>I'm not saying that I don't think there's a place for this sort of automated recommendation, but I do think that there needs to be more discussion in the community about using AI for such purposes. I know that a lot of people like it, especially for the fact that you can get recommendations almost instantly without having to talk to someone about it, but to me there's something very depersonalized about it and this is why I personally refuse to use it.
