Why doesn’t the water that drips from a dripping faucet form a globe shape underneath it?

It should form a globe, right? It’s not in contact with any other water so it shouldn’t have surface tension right?

Edit: I though of another one, why doesn’t the rivulets of water that form on a car that has been sitting out in the rain form spheres?
