What if the Korean War never happened?

The Korean War happened because of the division of Korea, which was divided after Japan’s surrender in WWII, and the Korean War ended with the signing of the armistice by North Korea, China, and the US. This led to the Contemporary division of Korea. But in an alternate history, if the Korean War never happened, how would contemporary Korea look like?
