Using "men" and "women" as catch all phrases is suprisingly offensive

Using "men" and "women" as catch all phrases is offensive. saying "would women just...." or "men are like this..." is the same as saying "black people are like this..." or any other catch all, it's offensive and offensive that it's not seen as offensive.
