How far is the singularity?

People in this community got really excited to see AI talk about the singularity, but I want to know how long we think it is.<br><br>I personally think we are at least 30 years out. AI is much better than it was just a few years ago, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's not quite as impressive to get a human to do a math problem and then talk to it as it is to have a robot that can reflect your entire life.<br><br>You also have to consider how hard it would be to make it. You would have to put every person in a box, probably for the rest of eternity, set to work to make it. Even then, there's the question of how to fund such an endeavour, along with the massive ethical implications.<br><br>I'm not saying it will never happen, but we should calm down and not get too ahead of ourselves.
