Hello. I couldn't find anything like this in my research on this website so I thought I would write this thread. I am a student in medical school of a country other than the United States. There is a lot of information that you have to memorize for the exams. One of the techniques I have found to be extremely effective is this.

Take what you want to remember. If it's a bunch of words, try to put them into a story. If its a formula or equation, try to put it into a story, or memorize something similar. For instance, any formula that is A / B or B/A can be memorized by ABCD, Always Divide By C or Always Divide C By D. If it's a diagram, try to put it into a story.

Put that story into a picture.

Take that picture and place it into a location that you are very familiar with. For instance, if you have a story about how the human heart works, you can put that photo inside your own heart, or you can place it along the path that the blood flows through your body and trace out the steps that way, just make sure you remember every step in your story and pay attention to the details.

Do this exercise enough to the point where you can give your story as many times as you want. At that point, it is in your long term memory forever.

This works for me.
