Tech Tech stands for "Technical Technical". It is the part of the course where people learn to use the equipment, lighting, sound, and cameras that are used in the theater.

This is also the part of the course where we learn stage combat.

For this Tech Tech, we have stage combat class from 1-2:30, and a dinner break from 2:30-4:00, and then we have a technical theater class from 4:00-7:00.

The stage combat class was super fun. The instructor is a professional actor who was in the name of the Rose and the Immortal. He knows what he's doing. He has a lot of patience and he wants us to learn how to fight properly. The fight scene that we are learning is a scene from the Princess Bride where Westley fights Inigo in the Fire Swamp.

For the Tech Tech classes themselves, we had a lot of time to work on lights. I was assigned to the spotlights. I'm still being instructed on where to shine them and what level everything should be set to, but it's nice to be able to figure out how to handle the spotlight myself. It's a lot of fun. I don't really like being on stage so it's nice to be part of the play without having to act.

This was a great experience. It's nice to be in an environment where I can relax and stop worrying and learn about the technical side of theater.
