How do I know if I need an MBA or not?

I'm a 26 year old American, and I graduated in the spring of 2021. My educational background consists of a bachelor's degree in business, and a minor in computer science. I have been working in a large Fortune 500 company since I graduated. In my opinion I have been very fortunate, I was able to secure myself a good starting salary after graduation, and have been able to get some solid raises despite only working for about a year and a half.

I've been working as an analyst in the finance department, mostly working on a lot of data visualization and data analysis, and sometimes presenting my findings to upper management.

Honestly, I've been doing well. I've been able to make a ton of money, and my career has been going pretty well up until this point. However, I sometimes worry that I might not be able to get to the C-level of management if I don't get an MBA. I also worry that if I don't get one, I'll be making less money than my peers who do have them. I should mention that I have a couple of co-workers who are doing the company's MBA program, and one of them said that it was the only way to get to executive leadership.

On the other hand, I have also been considering getting a second bachelor's degree in information systems. I've been really interested in coding and computer science, and I think that if I had a stronger understanding of tech, I'd be able to make more money. I've even considered switching to tech, but I have no idea if that's a good idea or not.

So here is my question. How do I know if I need an MBA or not? Is it going to be necessary for career advancement, or would it be better to go into tech or a STEM field?
