The male suicide rate is on the verge of exploding even further, and women don’t care

Are you guys aware that the economic situation is a lot worse than you think? There is a great deal of evidence indicating that a recession is inevitable, and as a result of this, a great deal of people are likely to lose their jobs. As anyone who is familiar with economic downturns already knows, this will lead to a surge in suicides. This is especially true for men, since we are disproportionately represented in the jobs that men perform; easily replaceable labor positions. <br><br>These positions are often the first to go, since they are relatively easy to replace, and the passive income that keeps people out of the workforce is on the verge of disappearing. This means that not only will many lose their jobs, but the accessibility of those jobs will only become more competitive from here. Many of those who are about to lose their jobs will likely take their own lives. This phenomenon has already been observed in Japan, where an economic downturn caused easily 10’s of thousands of suicides, overwhelmingly male. <br><br>What will be the response to this from society? I don’t expect much of anything. As has been the case for the last 100+ years, women will just shrug at the explosion in male suicide rates that is on the verge of unfolding, just as they did in the 1930’s. That’s right, they don’t fucking care that we kill ourselves. They don’t fucking care that we are about to lose everything. They don’t fucking care that we are about to lose our sense of purpose. Women do not care about us. They never have, they never will. <br><br>We as a gender have been nothing more than tools, accessories, and providers for them. We have always been disposable. Once we are out of use, we are tossed to the side. Women don’t care that many men are on the verge of living in the streets. Women don’t care that many men are on the verge of losing their will to live. <br><br>So let’s do what we can to prevent this, from a self-interest perspective. There is no reason to let the suicide rate explode. There is no reason to allow society to collapse. Let’s do everything in our power to stop what is unfolding.
