What do the CEO’s of major companies do all day?

As a college student studying economics, I’m really confused as to what the day to day job of a CEO is. I know they get paid millions of dollars to do it, but I’m not sure what they do. Like, I can see having a CEO for a few years, and that CEO lays out a plan for the next few years. But then what? I know they don’t sit at their desk crunching numbers, or looking at the price of their company’s stock price every 30 seconds. I also don’t think they’re meeting with their employees on a regular basis.
