You are not on the same level as the most average person

i am ushered into the back of an emergency department with a doctor to keep an eye on thousand of people waiting of anything. there are over a thousand people. and i am only one doctor. <br><br>i sit at my desk with one of my medical students and try to do my best. <br><br>i see children. i see the elderly. I see mothers. there are so many. so many that i can not see them all. <br><br>i have to choose. i have to choose who gets seen first. but i don't have time to see them all.<br><br>i'm sorry to say this, but if you have nothing wrong with you, it's very unlikely you will be seen. <br><br>i have no time to waste on you. even if you are in pain. i am sorry. <br><br>if you are bleeding, if your in pain, if you have a problem. i will do my best. but there are so many, i can not see them all.<br><br>and i'm sorry. <br><br>this is my job. this is what i do. <br><br>and when i get time to see how many people there are. <br><br>i feel like crying. <br><br>and i go back to work.
