Why is all the meat at my local grocers so bad now?

I ordered ground beef from my local American supermarket and when I cooked it it looked more like cooked chicken. It was inedible and tasted like feet. In the past, I’ve bought American chicken products that looked like ground beef. I’ve had American beef ground burgers that tasted like chicken or ham. It is very confusing. <br><br>I brought it up to the grocer and he told me there is a lot of imports coming in and he’s noticed a lot of the beef in the American supermarket is coming from Central and South America. He recommended going to an Asian store for more reliable meat. <br><br>He’s a very sweet guy and he’s Central American so I don’t think he was trying to be racist or anything. I don’t have the heart to ask him wtf but those two are beef producing countries so where is it coming from? I’ve been taking his advice and spending more time at the Asian market. The meat tastes like meat and the vegetables are fresher. But it’s a little bit more expensive and I miss American produce and meat so I can’t figure out how lousy American meat is becoming.
