What's up with the VAs in anime lately

I'm not been watching anime for that long so forgive me, but I just got back into watching anime after a while. I'm currently rewatching some stuff and the constant changes in voice actors for the same characters is a bit jarring. I'm not sure if this is a new trend because I'm pretty sure they stayed the same during my first watch but I'm not really sure.
