How can I ask a black man I’ve known for a few days about the experiences he has had as a black man?

I’ve been talking to a guy I’ve known for a day or two, and he is black. He is really cool and I’m intrigued about what he has gone through racially. He hasn’t brought it up and I feel like asking him about it would be rude.<br><br>How would I go about asking him about this in a non-offensive way? He seems to have a good sense of humor, would it be okay to ask him as a joke? And if I do, what should I say in order to get him to open up about it.<br><br>Edit: I want to ask him because I value his opinion and he seems like a really smart guy. I want to see what he thinks of different situations that have been in the news lately and hear about any issues he has had.
