Did I just accidentally throw away a ~$10,000 violin?

TL,DR: I thought my violin was in my bag hanging on the hook, but it didn't feel like I had anything in there when I was carrying it today. When I got home, I emptied my bag on the bed and the violin wasn't there. I ran back to work and asked everyone in the band if they had seen it. They hadn't. I called my grandma and told her. Hope she doesn't kill me.

It was a gift from my grandma. She bought it for me when I started getting serious about playing classical music, about 6 years ago. I didn't find out that that it was worth that much until a few years later.

I'm going to go back to the train station, but I know it's already gone. It literally costs over 10x more than the entire rest of my band gear combined. I've been so paranoid about it for years, but I finally managed to lose it today.

All I can think about is that I'm such an idiot. I should have known better. If I had been more intentional and present I would have noticed the bag was empty. I just wanted to rip out my hair when I found out. This is so frustrating. But it's not the end of the world, it's just a piece of property, and I still have a lot to learn from it.
