Ever since 6th grade when my math teacher asked me to create a presentation to help the students study for a math test, it has been my personal goal to apply what I learn in school to new situations in order to study and do better. This process of learning has helped me develop some proven study strategies to and I believe they can be applied to any situation.

In order to get an A in any class, you need to start from the beginning. What do I mean by that? That is a question you will need to ask yourself in order to get an A. Ask yourself questions all the time. If you don't know something, ask yourself, "How will I go about finding out the answer to this question?" or "Why do I need to know this?" or "How does this relate to anything else in my life?" That last question is very important because when we take what we learn and fit it into the big picture, it helps us understand what we are learning even more. Also, you want to start asking yourself questions at the beginning of the semester. Don't wait until an exam is coming up or until you are stuck on a question and then you realize "Oh wait, I don't know what this is." It is so key to keep yourself on track and on top of your schoolwork.

I don't know what else to say. I just wanted to get this out. I think that if we take what we learn and apply it to our lives, we will be able to really "get it". If we just have to memorize random facts, it's not helping us develop our brains. It's just so much homework and not actual learning.

What are some ways you take what you learn and apply it to your life? Do you do anything differently to learn than I do?
