I'm currently in high school and I'm preparing to study programming at a university because it seems like it's a good job to make money and it seems interesting to me.

I want to be able to help people who are in difficult situations, I currently volunteer as a phone operator for a suicide hotline. But I'm not sure if I can make a career out of that kind of thing and make enough money. So I'm thinking of studying another thing to improve my odds of landing a job in that field. I've done some research and I think that psychology is the best thing for me to study alongside.

I've been considering the following careers:

- Mental health software developer, but I don't find it that interesting.

- UX designer, it seems to be a niche with a lot of demand but I'm not sure enough about it to make it my only choice.

- QA tester, it seems like it's a niche with a lot of demand and the job description seems interesting to me.

How would studying programming and psychology help in these careers? Or are there any other ones where these qualifications would be useful?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated, I'm not sure what sources to trust and would like a second opinion.
