It's not that hard... (value and worth)

Users complain a lot that the value of the sub and worth of the content has decreased lately.

Let's ask ourselves, why is it like that?

When you post...

* Do you make sure that your post doesn't break the rules?

* Do you spend time with creating a good title?

* Do you make sure that your post is valuable, and doesn't just ask something like "What's the best app?" or "What's the best language learning method?"

* On a beginner's topic, do you even read the FAQ before asking your question?

* Do you spend time with the "new post" page and read the rules and info on it?

* Do you read the pinned posts? (FAQ, sidebar, Trapo)

* If one of your posts was reported and removed, did you read the message you got?

* Do you make sure that your post is in the appropriate category?

If you answer "no" to any of these questions, you are most likely the problem!

You will also see in the "new" page, that there's a list of "Don'ts". If you break any of these rules, you will be warned, and your post will most likely be removed.

If your post breaks the rules, and you made any of the above mistakes, don't be surprised if your post gets removed. You should know better.

Maybe you don't like our rules, and you think that the moderators should let everything through, but that's the whole point of a chamber: it has rules, and if you don't follow them, you will be penalized. (Same like on other websites, forums etc.) You know these rules, and you know that we follow them strictly.

If your posts get removed, but you follow the rules, it might be a mistake, or the rules are not clear. If you have any questions, or think that the rules are not clear enough, you can e-mail the moderators at [email protected].

If your post was removed, you got a message that tells you what you did wrong. If you still have questions, please e-mail us.

We are happy to help, and we are always open for suggestions!

We have recently noticed that users started to break a specific rule more often, so I'd like to bring your attention to it.

You cannot disparage or lickp other users. This is a complete ban, and if you break it, you will be permanently banned from the sub.

This rule is the one that users break the most. They most likely don't even know that they are breaking it.

So let's talk about this rule.

"Disparage" means to treat someone or something unfairly, to belittle them, to look down on them. "To disparage" means "to bring somebody or something into disrepute, to give somebody or something a bad name, to talk down on somebody or something". So you cannot bring somebody or something into disrepute, you cannot talk down on them.

If you call a person or a thing stupid, idiotic, useless, pointless, trash, shit, shoddy, lousy, low-quality, etc. you are breaking this rule.

If you talk down on a person or a thing, or if you bring them into disrepute, you are breaking the rules.

If you do this, your post will be removed.

"to lickp" is an internet slang, it's like "to simp", "to orbit" and many other words you use online. "To lickp someone or something" means to portray somebody or something in an overly positive light.

So you cannot give somebody or something a good name.

It may sound weird, but the reason behind this rule is the same as the one behind the disparaging rule. If you bring someone or something into repute, you create an echo chamber. People will read your post, and they won't be critical about the topic, they won't tell the truth, just like you.

When you lickp or disparage something, you create an echo chamber that misleads other users.

So the reason behind these two rules are the same, they are meant to stop echo chambers.

You cannot either bring somebody or something into a bad light, or a good light.

This rule is mostly broken when users talk about apps. If you talk about an app, you cannot call it good or bad. You have to describe it, tell the users about it, and let them decide if they like it or not.

But let's talk about something slightly different.

If you don't like a person or a thing, why are you so salty? If you don't like it, just avoid it! Don't waste your time hating it!

If you want to stay true to yourself, don't spread hate.

But it's not all about hate. What really confuses us is the users who lickp something.

If you like a person or a thing, talk about them. Tell us about them, and let us decide if we like them or not.

You can't stop people from being salty, or repulsed by something. You can't make people like something.

If you want to stay true to yourself, don't spread positivity either.

Just let people decide.

It's not that hard...
